So I was watching The Late Late Show with James Cordon last night and happened upon a full clip from Slow Learners. I was laughing so hard I cried. Of course, I knew I had to bring the movie to you guys!
The clip was an extended version of Sarah Burns' (I Love You Man, Enough Said) character, Anne, talking to Adam Pally's (Iron Man 3) character, Jeff, in the restaurant. As it turns out, a good portion of the movie (the majority, according to Adam on The Late Late Show) was improvised. Watching him take the chuff Sarah pours out about his face before I knew that information was funny enough. Watching the clip again (if it eventually comes online, we'll bring it to you), only made me cry harder.
I'm a sucker for the "loser in love later in life" movies, and this one is exactly that. The official description is as follows:
Jeff and Anne, two close friends and co-workers in a suburban high school, are embarrassingly unlucky at love. With nothing else to lose, they hatch a plan to transform themselves over the course of a sex-and-alcohol-fueled summer into the cool, confident people they aspire to be. At first an exhilarating adventure of self-discovery, Jeff and Anne's journey turns into a laugh-out-loud experiment as they lose their identities, their dignity, and quite possibly each other.
Perhaps the best news is we don't have to truck to the theater to see it on opening day. It looks damn funny, and it will be available On Demand as well as in theaters August 19th. Not a bad deal at all, peeps!
